Rock Foundation – A New Direction
Based in Newcastle , this project aims to improve the literacy of youths in the 16-24 age group who may be at risk of committing anti-social behaviour within the local community. It is hoped that an improvement in literacy will lead to greater self-esteem and improved motivation to play a useful part in the community. The project, which began in March 2004 and will run until February 2006, involves identification of individual needs through a full psychological assessment, the design of and Individual Learning Plan and provision of appropriate tuition. The individual’s progress will be measured on a regular basis and progress tracked on completion of the tuition. Clients will also be helped in their preparation for employment. Contact:
